Sadly, this my favorite restaurant in Doha cannot sell alcoholic drink anymore.
Their drought beer and fried dumpling are used to be my and most Japanese living in Qatar's favorite.

This was my first visit after the alcohol ban and nobody else beside us was in the restaurant.
Not even the regular band.

The food was still good.
Just my favorite chili sauce became too watery.
 
Their location was still hidden, and they are not listed in zomato.com.

My second time to this restaurant (first time review is here).
This time, we chose the seating in the karaoke room.
Sadly, we could not order the hotpot inside the room.
So we ordered food from a la carte menu and many beers.

The karaoke was OK, but choosing Japanese songs was a bit difficult.
We were 10 persons, and spent QAR 1661.
The owner was kind giving us some beers for free.

A happy addition to Doha, a Chinese Restaurant that serves alcohol.
After the ban of alcohol selling at Oasis Chinese Restaurant, they now the only choice for Qatar resident longing for beer and Chinese food.

It is the same people who run 东北饭店 a hidden Chinese Restaurant nearby, they said the new restaurant is run by the son.

The menu is the same as 东北饭店, just they sell alcoholic drink too.

We ordered Mandarin Duck Hot Pot, since it was cold in Doha, with many toppings.
Then we also orders fried and steam seafood dumplings and we loved it.
A colleague ordered an eggplant dish, was yummy.

Finally we paid QAR 1400, we were 8 people and drank beers.
Not cheap, but OK.

Still my best restaurant in Doha so far.
This time I visited alone.
I brought a magazine and a book.
But mostly ended up enjoying the live music and looking around other customers.

As usual, a lot of Japanese groups that night.
Also some Arabic groups or singles as usual.
This is the only place in Doha, where men in Arabic dresses could drink beer.
And one of the only two non-hotel places in Doha that sells alcoholic drink.

As usual, the couple singers that been singing there for years, were singing mostly the same songs every night.
They added some new songs though, like Happy by Farrel Williams.

Since I was alone, I only ordered my favorite Mixed Noodle Soup and Fried Dumpling.
Never eaten one plate myself of Fried Dumpling, I was quite full that night.
But nothing better in Doha than drought beer and Fried Dumpling in Oasis.

They will open in Gulf Mall too.

First time I went to this US origin Chinese restaurant in Dubai and had a good impression.
After they opened their first shop in Doha, I have been twice eating alone there, generally not really satisfied with their food.

They are very popular, and many people have to wait, since they don't have reservation system.
First time I came with colleagues, so we could order shared meal.

During the Ramadan, they provide complimentary Ramadan drink and soup.
I chose laban (yoghurt) and hot sour soup.

What we ordered:
- Appetizer Combo, combination of Dynamite Shrimp, Dumpling, Fried Wonton, Edamame, and Black Soy-sauced beef, QAR 120
- Fried Rice
- Mabo tofu, not really like normal Mabo tofu
- another beef meal, ordered by colleague, I forget the meal name
We spent QAR 301 for 4 persons.

Hakkasan is a Chinese restaurant in St. Regis hotel.
Went during the Friday Brunch, QAR 228 (with tea), QAR 398 (with alcoholic drink).
Course meal, can make your stomach full.
It is an international chain restaurant originated from UK.

I think the taste was so so, don't think it's worth it the price.
The place was cool and the service was good too.
Located outside, near the swimming pool in St. Regis hotel, a bit confusing if entering from hotel lobby.

Chowking

Chinese chain restaurant, originally from the Philippines.
Though it is not that yummy, still OK, and one of my favorite.
The fried rice quite nice.
I ordered several time Crispy Noodle, remembering Indonesian Tami Goreng.

Oasis Chinese Restaurant is my favorite restaurant in Qatar.
Mixed Noodle Soup, Fried Dumpling and drought beer are my regular.
Another yummy ones are Chinese Cabbage Garlic Sauce and Mixed Chow Mien.
But the star of the restaurant is the Fried Dumpling, sometime people will get disappointed when it is not available due to sold-out, or damaged fry pan :p (it happened!)

Located in a hidden place, inside Oasis Beach Club, behind the ruin and it cannot be seen from the main road.

It is open only for dinner from 18:00-23:00, and closed during month of Ramadan.

Strangely it strongly enforces dress code, for men, shorts and non-shoes are not allowed.
I, myself, once was declined to enter the restaurant wearing short pants, and I witnessed many people being turned down for the same reason!

It has daily live performance, the same Filipino couple of one singer and one instrument player since many years ago. A bit noisy for group of friends who want to chat.

It is extremely popular place for Japanese expats and other Asian.

Another unique scene is you can see people in traditional moslem dress smoking and drinking beer here, the only legal place in Qatar you can find this scene.
And I think the only non-hotel place serves legally alcoholic drink in Qatar.

In my visit early June 2016, just one day before they closed for Ramadan, most of the food were not available.
For the first time, we ordered Italian Pizza, since one of us got informed the pizza was good.
But, it was so so... home made feel though.
