Debs W Remman

Last visits: 24 December 2016
Taste: 3/5
Cost performance: 3/5
Location: Mall of Qatar

I didn't want to dine here after a big disappointment with Remman Cafe the previous day, but since my sister wanted to eat Arabic, we dined here.

The service from the staffs was great and the location was nice in the Oasis so we could watch the circus performance while dining.
We wanted Mix Grill, but it was not available, so we ordered Mix Shawarma Plater.
We ordered also Hummus Beiruti.
My mom liked the bread much.

Remman Cafe

Last visits: 24 December 2016
Taste: 1/5
Cost performance: 1/5
Location: Ezdan Hotel

This place used to be my favourite place and their Shakshouka was one of my favourite meal in Doha, but the visit this time was a big disappointment, their Shakshouka was just a scrambled egg!

When I asked the waiter, he said their Shakshouka was always like that, scrambled egg.
Then I showed him the picture I took before, then he called the manager to talk to me.
The manager explained that they changed the concept, since the previous one, the real Shakshouka took longer time to prepare... couldn't imagine how they could do thing like that... and they kept the price the same (paid QAR 46 for Shakshouka and mint lemonade)!

The manager said to me, next time, I should tell them that I want the Shakshouka like the real one in advance then they would prepare it like before... but I don't think I will come back to this place...

Al Majles Al Arabi Restaurant

Visit: 13 November 2016
Taste: 4/5
Cost performance: 3/5
Location: near Landmark Plaza

Their branch in Al Saad used to be my favorite Arabic restaurant, every time newcomers to Qatar wanted to try Arabic restaurants, I used to bring them here.

This time, we tried the branch near Landmark Plaza.
The restaurant was relatively new, but I felt like lack of the Arabic atmosphere in the Al Saad branch.

The food was OK, I specially liked the lamb chop.
Our order:
- Mixed Grill 1 Kilo with lamp chop, QAR 149 (4 types of meat, including chicken, beef, kebab and lamb chop, each type was 4 pieces)
- Baba Ghanoush, the arabic appetizer, QAR 14
A bucket of Bread was provided.

Al Qarmouty Seafood

Last visits: 1 September 2016, dinner
Taste: 3/5
Cost performance: 4/5
Location: Ezdan Hotel

An Arabic seafood restaurant.
They have several branches in Doha.
Since I have never been here, decided to give it a try.

I think the taste was OK, and reasonably priced.
I ordered Qarmouty Meal for QAR 70, and got grilled fish, grilled shrimp, rice, salad, bread... but not soup (I just remember now, in the menu, soup was listed!)
My friend ordered a Fish Fillet Meal for QAR 35, which I think a good value.
Mineral water cost QAR 4.

The appetizer bread and the hommous were good.
They have also like a fish market, where we can choose from the display and order the cook method, same like Lwazaar in Katara.

Remman Cafe

Last visits: 2 September 2016
Taste: 3/5
Cost performance: 3/5
Location: Ezdan Hotel

This is one of my favorite places in Doha, and visited several times when I stayed in Ezdan Hotel.

That morning, I tried something new, called "Eggs with Awarma (clay pot)" (QAR 24), but regretted, the Shakshuka was much better.
It didn't come in a clay pot, but in a metal pot.
It was like omelette with lamb meat.

Still love the interior, the food display and the service though.

Later on, in the afternoon, I came back to buy a chicken shawarma (QAR 15), another disappointment today.

Second time, I visited this yummy and cheap restaurant.
We visited about 11pm.
We ordered Salta (stew) and Chicken Ogda (similar to stew), the yoghurt salad and the big bread, and paid QAR 50.
We were too full, only ate 1 of the 2 bread given to us.
The complimentary soup tasted like Indonesian soto.

Yemeni Restaurant, Bandar Aden in Souq Wakif

Last visits: 23 March 2016, dinner
Taste: 5/5
Cost performance: 5/5
Location: Souq Wakif

I heard about this tasty but super cheap restaurant long time ago, but only had chance to visit it this time, with 2 Japanese friends who lived in Yemen before.
I loved the stew and the super big bread.
There was weird taste of special potato, they made it sticky, and mixed with the stew.
We can choose the seating, on the floor (carpet) or at the table.
