Introduced by my Filipino colleague who is a frequent visitor.

Liked this place because of the band and the DJ and not crowded.
The Filipino band had 3 ladies singers and 1 male singers, all had high level of singing.
We could request songs by writing on the tissue on the table (pen borrowed from waiters).

Ladies waiters, not so friendly but OK.

The crowd was old men with their Filipino ladies.
Nobody danced.

On the same floor, there was another club called Cash.

Beer and alcoholic drink was QAR 50, while softdrink was QAR 25.

First time coming this club.
The event was quite crowded though the entrance fee was QAR 200, not cheap.
So the crowd was high level expats, mostly western people.

The DJ ing was quite nice.
I arrived quite late about 11pm and the main DJ, Bob Sinclar was playing the music.
The DJ booth was quite close to audience, no gap between, so guests could even shake hand with the DJ.
Bob Sinclar closed his performance with his hit Love Generation.

Another DJ came in to replace Bob Sinclar at 1AM, and he was good too.

Shanghai Club at Shangri La Hotel

Went on 1-Dec-2016 Thursday night to enjoy one drink and listening to DJ, a Japanese lady.
Quite nice, the ambiance and the music, and the drink.
No ID check, since it is a restaurant basically.
We stayed only at the lounge area.

Trader Vic's

It was 11pm and the last night before the Qatari government banned selling alcohol a week before Eid Adha, called many places desperately with friends who carving for the drink, including Sheraton's Irish Bar (closed), Horizon Manor Fahrenheit (closed), Intercontinental's Paloma (closed at midnight), Melia's Noir (couple night), Intercontinental City's Strata (closed at 11pm), before finally found the happy information that the Hilton's Trader Vic's was open till 2AM.

I had never been there and somehow had interest on it since long.
I paid the entrance fee of QAR 100, includes one drink.
Since I felt a bit hungry, and was alone waiting for other friends to come, I asked the waiter to seat me to a dining table.
With the entrance ticket, I could choose any drink under QAR 75.
Or if I ordered one of the main course, the entrance fee would be refunded.

Was a bit confused, finally I decided not to order a main course, instead I order a mix platter and used the entrance ticket for a drink.
Didn't want to loose even a bit, I looked for the drink with QAR 75 price, and found this cute named coctail, Tiki Puka Puka.
Found out later that this drink was quite strong, but happy with it.
Happy too with the mix platter.

That Thursday night was Salsa night, with live singers.

Krossroad @ Horizon Manor Hotel

Probably the best live band in Doha.
I believe that's the only reason made them popular.


I don't like the security personnel who intervene too much, saying don't do that, don't do this.
And they are unfair, letting some persons (that night, two western girls) to sit on stage or even to dance on stage, but they shout when a Filipino tried to join the girls on the stage.


The place, especially the dance floor is small too.
And full of tobacco smoke.


Free entrance for hotel guests.
Good crowd.
I think the same level with Sheraton Irish Harp.

Fahrenheit @ Horizon Manor Hotel

While it is quite spacious, but the singers and band were not that good.
And the crowd, I saw many middle age Arabic with their Filipina fat ladies.

My Vietnamese fellow said it was like going to club in the countryside in his country :)

I don't think I will come back.

Irish Harp @ Sheraton Hotel

This is my favourite clubbing place in Doha, recently almost every Thursday nights I go there to dance while sip a drink.
And almost every week I saw the same regular customers :)

They also serve relatively good food.
We tried the good set of ribs and beer for QAR 100.

Things I like about this club:
- the crowd. Not many private hostess.
- the music, mostly famous pop songs.
- dance floor is at good size.
- the drink, reasonably priced. my favourite is Hoegardeen draught beer.
- the security, friendly and not too much interfere like in Krossroad.
- the entrance staff, quite flexible, like they don't ask for a membership when we enter late.
- no mix group policy, I can enter myself or with guys only. Many clubs in Doha applies mix group entry policies and reject entries for male only groups.

Things I don't like about this club:
- smokey, many people smoke.
- the live band songs, almost the same every week, like "Road 69", "It's My Life",...

Noir at Melia Hotel

Went here for the clubbing event, Noir, on Thursday night (3 June 2016).
Noir is a club lounge, with many sofas and small stage and a small dancing space.
Not particularly enjoyed the event I went, the Summer Party Closing Party.
There was no Live Band.

Tinie Tempah and Lost Frequencies

When: 26-May-16
Ticket: QAR 350 with one drink

Long time didn't go to beach parties in Intercontinental Hotel.
Previously, I went many times with friends, including the events with Akon, Tiesto etc.
The ticket was quite expensive, QAR 350 with one drink.
Surprised, there were many people.
Like expected with this price, many European, then Arabic.

DJ Lost Frequencies, was a young DJ from Belgium.
I think he was not bad, he played popular songs too.

Tinie Tempah, the rapper, was good too.
Sung his popular songs.

Overall was a nice clubbing event.

The Backyard

Regular outdoor clubbing event in Sheraton Hotel.
Surprisingly nice. Seating on the grass.
Happy hour before 9pm.
Live band.
Went there during the closing event in May 2016.
Food available, but only burgers and potatoes and salads.
