Dean & David

Visits: 2 February 2017, 7pm
Taste: 3/5
Cost performance: 2/5
Location: Ezdan Hotel ground floor outside

The staff was pissed off by other customer so he was in bad mood when receiving my order.
Ordered the not spicy yellow scampi (prawn) curry, set with salad and soft drink for QAR 57.
This was my third time here, not really happy with this place now.

Visit: 4 August 2016, 9pm
Taste: 4/5
Cost performance: 4/5
Location: Ezdan Hotel ground floor outside (other location in Pearl Qatar)

Ordered a curry set, with salad and drink for QAR 57.
Nice and simple decoration, labelled itself as a healthy food restaurant.
And nice menu too.
There is a menu for choose your own salad.
The Thai curry I ordered was OK and quite filling.

Costa Cafe at Ezdan Hotel, 24 hours

Visit: 3 February 2017, breakfast
Taste: 3/5
Cost performance: 3/5
Location: Ezdan Hotel, Tower 1

Quite full in the morning, many Ezdan residents took breakfast.
Order Capuccino Medium size (QAR 16) and Cake Red Velvet (QAR 26).
Could not finish the cake, too big and too sweet/saturated.

Visit: 26 January 2017, midnight
Taste: 3/5
Cost performance: 3/5
Location: Ezdan Hotel, Tower 1

This new opening was a happy thing for residents since they opened 24 hours, added more options for dining.
Located in Tower 1, between Remman Cafe and Al Qarmouty Restaurant.
The place was quite cozy, though the nearby Mokarabia was cozier.
The price was similar with Mokarabia.

Capucchino was QAR 20 (regular).
Mocha Cream Frost was QAR 20.

Breakfast at Mokarabia at Ezdan Hotel

Visit: 27 October 2016, breakfast
Taste: 4/5
Cost performance: 3/5
Location: Ezdan Hotel

With opening of Costa Cafe (open 24 hours), more options to have breakfast in Ezdan hotel, however, I decided to have here in my favourite spot.

Had capuccino monte bianco (white and slightly sweet capuccino) and Shawarma Star (with banana and strawberry inside).
I liked the sweet shawarma, but that time I felt a little bit too sweet.

My bill:
- Capucchino Monte Bianco, QAR 25
- Shawarma Star, QAR 25

Stay: 1 December 2016 (Thursday)
Booked by: Booking.com
Paid: QAR 239
Room: 43003 (Tower 4, Floor 30, Room 03)

Got Tower Room with corniche view, nice view of West Bays towers.
First time they provided 3 apples in the room.

Ordered Shawarma Platter for QAR 25 at Room Service, was nice.

The swimming pool water was quite cold, but got used after swimming a while.
Some people with nice bodies.

During check out, the receptionist asked to wait for the room check. The same receptionist who asked me to wait, then engaged to other customers, resulted I had to wait for long time before I could leave.

Ezdan Hotel, Stay

Stay: 10 November 2016 (Thursday)
Booked by: Agoda.com
Paid: QAR 225
Room: 43501 (Tower 4, Floor 35, Room 01)

For the many times I stayed in this place.
This time booked Agoda.com.
The reception told me that I booked Tower Room, but got free upgrade to Superior Room

Among my many stays here, this time I got the best room due to the view, of corniche (sea side) and the towers between.

What I like:
- The gym and the pool, it's my ritual now on Fridays.
- The restaurants outside the hotel, especially Mokarabia and Remman Cafe.
- The room facilities, i.e. hot drinking water boiler, hair dryer, complimentary bottled water.
- The room service pizza was great, QAR 25 for 2 pizzas (small size), but it took long to come.
- The 24h open supermarket inside.
- Late check out at 2pm.

What I don't like:
- The swimming pool water was too cold.
- The receptionist lady was lack of smile.

Ezdan Hotel, Stay

Stay: 1 September 2016 (Thursday)
Booked by: Booking.com
Paid: QAR 239
Room: 43209 (Tower 4, Floor 32, Room 09)

I remember the first time I stayed in this place, in my colleague's room, I hated this place.
But now, almost every weekend I am staying here, booked sometime by booking.com and sometime by Airbnb.
Now I envied my colleagues who live there.

This weekend, firstly I booked by Airbnb, but later on was cancelled by the hotel.
Then I booked by Booking.com.

Was lucky, since there was no available Tower Room I booked (the cheapest), I was upgraded to a Grand Room. But found out that there was no bath tub, so I called the receptionist, asking a room with bath tub. Was lucky again, now I got upgraded one level more to Superior Room, bigger room with a bath tub :)

What I like:
- The gym and the pool, it's my ritual now on Fridays
- The restaurants outside the hotel, especially Mokarabia and Remman Cafe
- The service

What I don't like:
- Couldn't think of one now!

Al Qarmouty Seafood

Last visits: 1 September 2016, dinner
Taste: 3/5
Cost performance: 4/5
Location: Ezdan Hotel

An Arabic seafood restaurant.
They have several branches in Doha.
Since I have never been here, decided to give it a try.

I think the taste was OK, and reasonably priced.
I ordered Qarmouty Meal for QAR 70, and got grilled fish, grilled shrimp, rice, salad, bread... but not soup (I just remember now, in the menu, soup was listed!)
My friend ordered a Fish Fillet Meal for QAR 35, which I think a good value.
Mineral water cost QAR 4.

The appetizer bread and the hommous were good.
They have also like a fish market, where we can choose from the display and order the cook method, same like Lwazaar in Katara.

Remman Cafe

Last visits: 2 September 2016
Taste: 3/5
Cost performance: 3/5
Location: Ezdan Hotel

This is one of my favorite places in Doha, and visited several times when I stayed in Ezdan Hotel.

That morning, I tried something new, called "Eggs with Awarma (clay pot)" (QAR 24), but regretted, the Shakshuka was much better.
It didn't come in a clay pot, but in a metal pot.
It was like omelette with lamb meat.

Still love the interior, the food display and the service though.

Later on, in the afternoon, I came back to buy a chicken shawarma (QAR 15), another disappointment today.

Mokarabia

Visit: 19 August 2016, breakfast and late sweet lunch
Taste: 4/5
Cost performance: 4/5
Location: Ezdan Hotel ground floor outside Tower 1

Visited twice this day, and this place has completely become my favorite cafe in Doha.
So comfy.

During the breakfast, I made mistake, ordered Haloumi sandwich.
Just found out only when it was served, Haloumi is goat cheese... and I hate cheese :(

Afternoon, after gym and after checking out my hotel, I came again.
Since not really hungry, I ordered this unique menu, chocolate crepe spaghetti.
The spaghetti was made by crepe, then it was showered with chocolate liquid, and served with vanilla ice... yummm

That afternoon, I watched Olympic game in their TV, badminton game.
There were 4 other Malaysian customer in the same room, they were so noisy supporting their player.
But generally I enjoyed watching TV in this comfy cafe.

My bill today:
- Haloumi & Vegetable, QAR 35
- Grape fruit juice, QAR 28
- Spaghetti Crepes Alfredo, QAR 38
- American Coffee, QAR 22
